Foodie's Haven
On 5th of November, I was lying on my bed cozily with my mobile phone in my hand checking out the feed of Facebook and Instagram. At around 6 pm, one of my dearest person sitting in Kolkata which is 1500 km from Delhi where I live. Internet I tell you an amazingly necessary pain in ass. Anyway, she is a person with appealing personality and constantly motivates me to become a better person. So this person knew that never had I ever went anywhere and had fun all by alone. Moreover, she resents me on the fact that I waste myself by laying on the bed simply. So she urged me to attend this fest and I would be indebted her(yet again) to make me take the step to be independent. I was more than glad and satisfied with my decision and her bugging.
I took an Ola, put on a non-fancy top with jeans, combed neatly my hair and headed to the food fest with an empty stomach to be honest. I was captivated by the lighting, the glamour, the amount of booz flowing in, the number of people present in such trendy styles. Delhites do know how to dress up for an occasion where you only have to eat. Like wow! I was feeling like shit already.

Anyway, the Horn OK Please food truck festival was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi organised by Pepsi. The entrance was decorated with actual tires. It was held at the outer areas of the stadium and not inside. ‘Horn OK Please’ this year brought with it the perfect blend of food, drinks, liveliness, music and colour.

The place was decorated like it was the Diwali for foodies being celebrated. With the beautiful fairy light canopies, bright coloured props, the loud music beats, and different varieties of cuisines, it became a truly memorable experience for the first hangout by myself. How beautifully, the umbrellas has been used to give such a festive feel. Its brilliant.

Host to over 40 food trucks, the Food Truck Festival was truly a culinary journey for all the foodies in the city. From an assortment of barbeque treats to pizzas and different varieties of momos, from the likes of Schezwan and Bacon Momos, to the popular Potato Twisters, the enthusiastic food truck chefs gave it all to the food lovers. The mini trucks were lined up with their affordable menus hanging outside with mouth watering dishes. Thousands of people got united with just one thing tasty food. Oh! the happiness on everyone's face was a scene to watch.

The festival also catered for the ones with a Sweet Tooth. The Waffle Mart offering over 50 varieties of waffles, by brands like Waffle Factory, Waffle Chowk, and The Waffee was the major highlight.

A meal becomes complete for Delhites only after they had a cup of beer. So, there was a collection of beer also from various companies which i didn't dare to explore.

The real ending to a food fest doesnt simply happen with music. So, there was music by some of the talented local bands applaused greately by the audience. Coupled with live performances by bands like Knox Artiste, Zikr Band, DJ Basspatch, Bollywood Brothers and Mankirt Aulakh, the Delhi Food Truck Festival was a fun-filled extravaganza.
Lastly, I would urge all of my friends to have fun even when there's no company. Gather a little courage, set out your foot and you shall conquer the world.
