Be Your Own Kind Of “NORMAL”
What is normal? Can you show me a lexicon from any era written just about normalcy? Can you show me any guru or guide preaching steps on how to be normal? No... Because there isn’t any. And even if there would have been one if would not fit us because we are humans for god's sake. We are emotional beings. We feel things. Our brain is a miracle in itself, whose working varies from person to person
I don’t know who has invented the concept of staying normal but it hasn’t benefitted me or anyone I’ve known till now. But then, if the concept being unapologetically me was somewhat out of syllabus then comes the concept of embracing change which demands a change of question in the test paper of life.
These are some of the basic things which every person needs to inculcate in their lives because without these life skills, we would be douchebags. And trust me on this nobody likes to be called that. And the funny thing is, I'm being called a douchebag pretty much my whole life because of my shameless portrayal of weirdness. Those include saying no to getting used, having a good time by myself, not being able to entertain by being a laughing piece and other things. Oh no, things became contradictory. But you get the gist “thy actions wilt be judged no matter what thee doth” (your actions will be judged no matter what you do)
So, why is it so important to be yourself? Because “trees that are slow to grow, bear the best fruit” and “the fruit of your own hard work is the sweetest”. Confused? Fear not when cranky_rambler is here to explain. Everything will be as clear as asking someone out. Who am I kidding? Also, this is me presenting my opinions as facts (which are by the way based on experience)
Embracing your own kind of normal makes you open, open for venturing into old woods of memories, tides of emotions while breathing the air of self-confidence.
Making your weirdness, goofiness, silliness, abnormality into normalcy inspires other people to do the same and creates a space for diversity, a more harmonious world.
It makes you carriers of a good contagious disease from which every passing person benefits from.
Being unique weirdos frees you from shackles of thriving on validation and stops you from becoming a people pleaser. A people pleaser only brings sorrows upon them by killing or hiding their true self. Nonetheless, it's a hard path, but that shouldn’t prohibit you from traversing this path whose final destination is happiness, not death(pun intended)
We all are "misunderstood" and every one of us fights a very real battle but in mind, under a mastered facade. We all have special needs. Need to be loved and need to be accepted. Don't you agree that these two summarises our wish to be validated? So let's create a space where we learn from each other through our playfulness.
