Self Love : A Needful Hype

A concept which is widely approved, showcased and backed up by science as a path to fruitful and satisfactory life. From do's and dont's to limitations to scientific explanations to advantages and disadvantages - everything has been explained on the highly looked up platform - the Internet. But, still people aren't aware or they brush off the idea as something attainable and weird to consider.

Just as the thousands of websites and pages which jot down the different ways to accomplish self-love, this blog won't be like that. I'm no one to tell you how it should be done, what path should be followed because every single person has their own kind of demons to fight against. So, what magic beans would a to-be graduate would be spilling here? None. Yes, none. But, as someone who is walking on this particular road, I can testify this, you'd be happy. Genuinely happy
.
To start with my story, the path of self - love was shown to me by one of my dear friends and I would be forever indebted to her. It was the time when my mother passed away. Another fun fact. I was one of the "daddy issues" kind of girl. My mom, the person on whom I was dependent in every good and nasty way was gone. In a blink of an eye. And no, I'm not telling you to gain sympathy or anything. I'm just narrating my story. So, the next thing I realized, that there's no permanent source of love on which I can "feed" upon. And I figured, on the cliched "3a.m."s I would be my own company in every situation. Then, for the 1st time, I asked myself "what do I need" and listened to all complaints, wishes, and desires I had for myself. The one thing that nobody tells you is that you learn many virtues. Basic human values. Which are slowly forgotten and not stressed upon as it should be.

I find the poem "As I began to love myself" by Charlie Chaplin (yes, the legendary comedian) relatable to what I want to convey.
As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering
are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth.
Today, I know, this is “AUTHENTICITY”.
As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody
As I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time
was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this
person was me. Today I call it “RESPECT”.
As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life,
and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.
Today I call it “MATURITY”.
As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance,
I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens
at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm.
Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE”.
As I began to love myself I quit stealing my own time,
and I stopped designing huge projects for the future.
Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do
and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in
my own rhythm. Today I call it “SIMPLICITY”.
As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for
my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew
me down and away from myself. At first, I called this attitude
a healthy egoism. Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF”.
As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since
I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is “MODESTY”.
As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry
about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING
is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT”.
As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me
and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my
mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this
connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART”.
We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems
with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing
new worlds are born.Today I know THAT IS “LIFE”!

These 10 things are actually legit and I myself follow them. I'm sharing this with y'all so that you can also benefit

Also, it is a lifelong learning process and never ever gets boring. You can't just rock the boat. You have to drive it up onto the rocks, set fire to the galley and dance on the burning deck. You have to take it all the way. Haha! I just quoted a movie dialogue.

The pictures above are my daily reminders to keep myself sane and I wanted to share them too. Thank you for reading this blog post. See! You're already a patient person and congratulations on finish reading this post. Much love and have a great day.
